What I Mean When I Say, “I’m a Disciple of Jesus”

Matthew 10:24-25
“The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.  It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters.”

When I say, “I am a disciple of Jesus,” I’m saying…

I have a lot to learn.  I believe the surest and highest source of all I need to learn is Jesus, the most brilliant, insightful, knowledgeable, and discerning human ever.

I am a student of Jesus.

I have work to do.  I believe all noble things are difficult and living in the love to which Jesus calls me is both a labor and a joy.

I am a servant of Jesus.

Being a disciple of Jesus is, ultimately, all I aspire to be.

It is enough.
